The HEC MBA essays are perhaps the most detailed among all MBA programs. It is a very global program, and it looks for motivated candidates who are professionally accomplished, well-rounded and have an international outlook. The HEC MBA essays emphasise planning (goals), experience, and creativity. The essays are meant to test your ability to deal with complex problems, so there is no single answer to any of them. Instead of giving you step-by-step guidelines for the essay writing process, theis article will provide you with some general tips that might help you get started with the preparation:

1)Do not aim too high from the beginning; instead, aim for something realistic that you can achieve within three years after graduation

2)Make sure your goals are SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound)

3)Start working on your application early; apply as soon as it becomes available

4)Prepare well-researched answers for each question in advance

HEC MBA Essay 1

Why are you applying to the HEC MBA Program now? What professional objective will guide your career choice after your MBA, and how will the HEC MBA contribute to achieving this objective? (500 words)

The most important thing about the HEC MBA essays is to be personal and honest. Don’t try to be perfect or extraordinary in your application. This is about you and your goals.

Be specific about why you want an MBA and what it will do for you. For example, if you want more responsibility at work or a higher-paying job, describe precisely how this will happen after graduation from business school. If your goal is something more abstract like “to learn more about business” or “to gain experience working with talented people,” then expand on these ideas and explain why they’re important to you by providing examples from your personal life or past experiences at work (if applicable).

Note that HEC also has another 250-word response on your goals inside the application, so it is fine if you want to only mention your dreams without going into too much detail on them in this essay.

Here are the things you must prepare when you are thinking of answering this essay:

  1. Identify your career objective – What do you want to do after graduation? Do you want to stay in your current field, or switch careers? You need to identify your objective and the skill gaps that prevent you from achieving that objective without an MBA.
  2. Explanation – Why do you want an MBA? What has changed since the last time you applied for an MBA? Have the difference connected with your objective?
  3. Describe how HEC can help achieve this objective – How will HEC’s MBA program help achieve your goal? What skills and knowledge will make a difference? Compares HEC’s MBA to other programs? What differentiates HEC’s MBA from other schools? You will need to research the school, understand the curriculum, and state how they apply to you.

HEC MBA Essay 2

What do you consider your most significant life achievement? (250 Words)

This is a very open-ended question, and it can be answered in many ways. It can be related to personal or professional life.

If you are applying for a business school program, this essay is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your leadership skills, initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability. If you are applying for a business school program, this essay is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your leadership skills, initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability.

Choosing an achievement is not easy because it must be your most significant, as HEC requires. We recommend that you don’t jump into this answer right away but introspect a bit first. Here are the things you must prepare when you are thinking of answering this essay:

  • What have been your key achievements in life?
  • Why did they make you feel proud?
  • How did they affect your life?
  • What has been the impact on others?
  • What made them so significant for you?****

After that, you may be able to identify some achievements as better than others. You can talk about something you’ve done or achieved in the past or something you plan on doing.

Here are some ideas:

  • Winning a competition at school or work
  • Getting a promotion at work
  • Raising money for charity (you can be specific about how much money was raised)
  • Starting a business and growing it into a successful company (including how long it took to get started)

HEC MBA Essay 3

Leadership and ethics are inevitably intertwined in the business world. Describe a situation in which you have dealt with these issues and how they have influenced you. (250 Words)

Before attempting this one, note that this is NOT a leadership essay. It is an essay about ethical issues and leadership.

The main idea of this essay is straightforward: describe an ethical dilemma that you have experienced at work or outside work, explain why it was a moral dilemma and what did you do to solve it, or what would have been your solution if there was no other way out except for lying or deceiving others (in other words: what would have been your action if you had to choose between lying/not telling the truth and losing your job?); finally, explain how this experience changed your attitude towards life or certain people/situations).

The first thing you have to do is to understand the question. They ask for an essay on leadership and ethics.

You have to write about something that has influenced you in your life and how it affected your values and behavior in the workplace.

For example, if you had a boss who was not ethical, this would be an excellent example because it will show how much of an effect they had on your life and how it made you change yourself for the better.

Another thing that you can do is to write about your own experiences with these two issues and how they made you change over time as well as how they affected others around you.

Suppose you are writing about someone else who wasn’t ethical. In that case, this could be interesting because it shows how this person changed others around them for better or worse, depending on what happened after their actions were revealed or uncovered by others!

HEC MBA Essay 4

Imagine a life entirely different from the one you now lead. What would it be? (250 words)

To create a good answer, you should have an image of your ideal lifestyle and its components. You can use some examples from your life that may show what kind of lifestyle you want to live in the future. If you are not sure about how to start writing this essay, then here is some guidance for you:

Think about your own life story – what you have done so far, your current situation, what you want to achieve, and why?

What kind of person? Are you ambitious? Do you like challenges and risks? Do you prefer a quiet life or a busy one? Do you want to travel or stay at home?

The first thing you need to do is choose a topic for your future life. You can choose any topic like living in a country or city other than where you live now or starting a new job or working at home instead of going out every day for work.

After choosing a topic, write down all the things that interest you about this topic. The more exciting something is for us, the easier it will be to write about it in our essay. Remember, it is about our passions, not an utterly imaginative story.

HEC MBA Essay 5

This essay has three choices – the only one in the HEC MBA essays set that does – and you need to choose one option to answer:

a) What monument or site would you advise a first-time visitor to your country or city to discover, and why?

Here are the things you must prepare when you think of answering this essay.

First, you need to know your destination well. It’s essential to know how long it takes to get there and how much time is required to explore the place. You can mention that it is not far from any other tourist attraction and has suitable parking spaces.

Second, do some research on the site itself. Find out what makes it unique and special, what kind of activities are available there, etc. For example, if we were writing about the Statue of Liberty in New York City, we could write something like this: “The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom for all Americans. It was given as a gift from France in 1886 and now stands majestically in New York Harbor as an icon for America’s values: liberty, democracy, and equality.”

b) Certain books, movies, or plays have had an international success that you believe undeserved. Choose an example and analyze it.

For this essay prompt, you need to choose a book, movie, or play that is pretty famous but that you can also analyze deeply. You don’t want to pick something too obscure or that no one has heard of. One way to do this is by choosing something that has been adapted into another medium (TV show, film). Another way is by picking a classic that has stood the test of time. Avoid books, movies, or plays on sensitive, controversial, or religious topics.

Next, carefully analyze why it doesn’t deserve its success. Make relevant points to support your argument. Don’t just make it an opinion. Some examples could be:

Thesis: The book, movie, or play does not deserve its success.

  1. The book/movie/play is not as good as other books/movies/plays in the same genre.
  2. The book/movie/play is not as good as the author’s previous works.
  3. There are better books/movies/plays on similar topics that have come out recently, and therefore this one doesn’t deserve its success.
  4. The book/movie/play has no literary merit whatsoever (e.g., it contains foul language and completely unrealistic situations).
  5. The author himself is a hypocrite because he wants to inspire people, but his actions don’t match his words (e.g., he claims that he wants to help people off the streets but then turns around and hires homeless men to work for him).

c) What figure do you most admire and why? You may choose from any field (arts, literature, politics, business, etc.).

To answer this question, you need to make sure that you have a clear idea of who your role model is and what makes them inspiring. This will help you structure your essay and introduce it with a strong opening sentence or paragraph. Once you have this information, it is time for brainstorming! Write down everything that comes to mind regarding their personality traits or accomplishments so that you can use them later on in your essay. Finally, be sure to include all relevant information about their background so that readers can see how they relate to yours.

Choose someone relatively famous – generally avoiding deeply personal examples that the reader won’t be able to relate to. Consider the meaning of ‘admire.’ It means “to regard feelings of respect and approval.” This means that you should not name a famous personality and reason for admiring them. You will be expected to justify why they are their role model.

You need to answer questions such as – what does this person possess? What are some examples of these characteristics? How impacted your life? Why do you think this person is worthy of admiration?

Finally, make sure that your essay answers all three parts of the question: why do you admire them? How have they impacted your life? And what lessons can be learned from their example?

Is there any additional information you would like to share with us? (900 words)

Your optional essay should be a brief, honest explanation of any extenuating circumstances or other essential things not explained in the rest of your application. These could include reasons for low grades, career gaps, too many job switches, or the absence of promotion despite having worked for many years. Remember, this essay is not to be used to repeat information already covered in your earlier HEC MBA essays.
