MBA Application Deadlines 2026-27: Top US, Europe and India B-Schools

mba in usa

Last updated: 24 October 2026. Every date below comes from the school’s own admissions website. Schools occasionally change their dates, so confirm on the school’s page (linked in each table) before you submit.

What you need to know in 60 seconds

  • Applications you submit in the 2026-27 cycle are for MBA programmes that start in 2027. At US schools that is the Class of 2029, starting in August or September 2027.
  • Round 1 at almost every top US school has already closed. Round 2 is the next big wave: most deadlines fall between 4 and 15 January 2027.
  • Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan have only two rounds this year, so there is no Round 3 to fall back on.
  • Some deadlines come much sooner. NUS closes Round 1 on 29 October, INSEAD closes Round 2 for its August 2027 intake on 3 November, Oxford’s Stage 3 closes on 4 November and ISB’s Round 2 closes on 6 December 2026.
  • ISB has replaced its Young Leaders’ Programme and Early Entry Option with PGP YL. If you are a final-year student or have under two years of work experience, PGP YL’s deadlines are 20 December 2026 and 15 February 2027.

Which round should you apply in?

Round 2 is not too late. At the top US schools, Rounds 1 and 2 fill most of the class, so a strong Round 2 application competes on equal terms. What hurts is a rushed one. If your test score, essays or recommenders won’t be ready by early January, fix that first.

Round 3 is a narrow door, especially for Indian applicants. By spring, most seats and most scholarship money have gone, and a late admit leaves little time for a US student visa. HBS and MIT Sloan don’t have a Round 3 at all this year, and at Tepper, Round 3 (3 March) is the last round open to international applicants.

If January is too tight, look at Europe. INSEAD’s Rounds 3 and 4 (19 January and 9 March), Oxford’s Stage 5 (15 March), Cambridge’s Rounds 4 and 5 and HEC’s monthly rolling deadlines give you more time without pushing your start date back a year.

Watch the scholarship deadlines. Some schools tie scholarship consideration to a particular round, for example Oxford’s Stage 4 (6 January) and NUS’s Round 2 (20 January).

A ten-week plan for Round 2

Most Round 2 deadlines are about ten weeks away. Working backwards from the first week of January:

  • By 7 November: fix your school list and your test plan. If you still need a GMAT or GRE score, book the test now.
  • By 21 November: brief your recommenders. Give them at least four to six weeks, and a short note on the examples you would like them to cover.
  • By 1 December: finish first drafts of your essays for your top two schools.
  • By 15 December: finish your test, your resume and the short-answer sections of the online forms.
  • By 22 December: final essays. Submit a few days before the deadline rather than on the night itself.

Before you rely on a date

Deadlines usually close at a set time in the school’s own time zone, often 11:59 pm or noon, so a date in New York or Paris can be a different day in India. Schools also revise dates during the cycle. Check the school’s page, linked above, before you submit, and set your own deadline a few days earlier.

We update this page every admissions cycle.
