The LSE MSc Finance and Economics offers exceptional graduates from quantitative disciplines the opportunity to develop their understanding of financial economics, financial econometrics and microeconomics to a very high level. Uniquely, students are taught not only how to apply and use various well-known models, but also to understand the technical foundations underpinning these models, enabling them to alter, amend, empirically test and adapt the models to new market environments. Applicants should have a strong undergraduate training in quantitative subjects such as economics, maths, physics, engineering, finance or business and wish to specialize in financial economics. Candidates’ training must include at least a year of calculus and a semester of linear algebra.
