The Indian School of Business (ISB) is one of India’s top business schools, offering working professionals a top-notch education. ISB’s elevated education is based on the concept of “one school, two campuses” (Hyderabad and Mohali). ISB does not acknowledge CAT scores for admission, unlike most other Indian business schools. If you’re an ISB applicant hoping to get into your dream university, you should know that your GMAT score is crucial. What constitutes a strong GMAT score, however, is determined by the competitive nature of the program as well as your profile.
There are many other significant factors in the application process in addition to the GMAT score. You’ll have a better idea after more discussion. Let’s look at the average GMAT score for ISB over the last five years to see what constitutes a good GMAT score. From 2018 to 2022, the following are the average GMAT scores:
YEAR | GMAT SCORE RANGE | ISB AVERAGE GMAT SCORE |
2022 | 610-780 | 713 |
2021 | 600-780 | 710 |
2020 | 600-770 | 710 |
2019 | 600-780 | 709 |
2018 | 600-780 | 707 |
ISB does not have a GMAT cut-off. According to data from the previous five years, the average GMAT score is 710. The level of competition has risen year after year. The score that would give fresh applicants some confidence is still a mystery. Let’s discuss the applicant data for the PGP class of 2022, which includes shortlisted, wait-listed, and admitted candidates.

620 | 2 | 1 | 50 |

A total of 301 candidates with a GMAT score of 700 or higher were interviewed out of 328 applicants. Out of 97 applicants with a GMAT score of 710, a mere 88 were selected for an interview. And only a handful of students with a score of less than 660 were invited to an interview. Interview invitations fell from 100% for a GMAT score of 770 to 87% for a GMAT score of 730, and then to 82% for a GMAT score of 690. The higher the GMAT score, the better your chances of getting into graduate school.

The conversion rate appears to be higher for GMAT scores of 740 or higher, and it goes down as the GMAT score lowers. Despite being invited, two applicants with scores of 600 and 620 were not accepted. The conversion rate for applicants with a GMAT score of 760 is 71%, while the conversion rate for applicants with a GMAT score of 770 is only 45%. So, while a high GMAT score is a good starting point for the admissions policy, it does not sure-shot give you ISB Admit. Given the high level of competition at ISB, a score of 730 or higher will give you the legitimacy to be granted access to an interview.
