Information on the IMD MBA Fees, Class Profile and Ranking follows these inspiring IMD MBA Success stories.
Rajesh Behera: A cricketer at heart, an IITian by education, and a Project Manager by profession, Rajesh had his eyes set on the IMD MBA for quite some time, before he decided to give it his best shot.
Rajesh started preparing for GMAT…….and scored a 720 on it. However, then came the next big task – The IMD application and the ‘more than an interview’ assessment day processes.
Rajesh had more than 6 years of international experience in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. With projects spanning operations and project management in the oil & gas industry, he submitted a thought through application for admission into the IMD MBA.
Then followed 5 weeks of (excruciating) wait, before he got the much-awaited invite for the IMD MBA Assessment Day. The IMD Assessment day is a one-of-its-kind experience for any candidate, which includes a personal interview, a 5 minute presentation, a role play, a case discussion, and a live class.
Rajesh prepared hard for one month for the IMD Assessment Day. GyanOne helped him hone his interviewing skills, think through his strategy for the 5-minute presentation, and gain a strong grasp in general on case discussions and what they involve.
Rajesh worked with GyanOne over a 5 week period for his IMD interview preparation, and ensured that he put his best foot forward for this grueling assessment.
And then again, those two long weeks, which led to his final admit. Yes, he made it to IMD!
It is a new journey for him, and a very important one to achieve his goal of management consulting.
Sandeep Kusnure: Sandeep, yet again an IMD MBA Admit (2016), is an experienced professional with close to 10 years of work experience, with a substantial chunk in the UK (his home now, before it changes to Switzerland for a while). He has worked in India, the USA, and UK, in the technology and Analytics space.
He also has entrepreneurial experience, with numerous cross-cultural clients and revenue numbers backing his candidature for the IMD MBA. For Sandeep, one point of concern was his GMAT score of 640.
Though, with 10 years of strong work experience, he had other things to build his IMD MBA application on. Sandeep has a very rich profile, and this reflected in the experiences that he shared with GyanOne when working with us on his IMD application.
One of the things that immediately differentiates Sandeep is his maturity, ability to work hard, and willingness to improve. Sandeep put in deep effort to improve his essays and refine his stories throughout the application process. This resulted in a strong application to IMD, helping him overcome his GMAT score. In a few weeks, Sandeep had this email for us:
Hi Rishabh, A good news from IMD ?
Received a call from IMD this afternoon confirming the selection for assessment day. Thanks a lot for helping me to get through this first stage. I truly appreciate your help in this process. So what’s next? I heard that their Assessment Day is toughest interview process so need to prepare fully. What do you say?
For the IMD Assessment Day preparation, Sandeep worked with GyanOne again. He put in hours and hours of effort to think through his stories, his goals, and his fit with IMD.
At one point, Sandeep had spoken to more than 10 IMD alumni to gauge their experience of the program, and to understand the school better. That is what we call commitment! Whether it was preparing for the interview, or understanding the 5-minute presentation, Sandeep did an outstanding job.
And then, post the actual IMD Assessment Day, came this much awaited mail, driving a sense of elation in the entire GyanOne team:
Yes, We did it. Finally received the acceptance letter from IMD.
They have called me and informed me after our call on Wednesday but I was waiting for an official letter before spreading the news. Many thanks for all your support.Thank You!
